On the surface,Torchlight Infinitelooks like a run-of-the-mill dungeon crawling mobile game where you press a button to win, but once you get past all the tutorials and beginning pains, there is so much nuance and customization so plentiful that no two players will play the same class in the same way.

Though the focus of this list is primarily focused on classes, they will be broken down by character. Two characters might have a class in common, but they will not play in the same way, and have skills and moves unique to them despite their similarities within a specific class. As the game grows, it will most likely change in the future.
7Commander - Moto
Moto alone represents the summoner class in the game, though his summons are tech based, not magic. Instead of the robots being the tank while you are doing all the damage, the robots are the ones doing all the heavy lifting while you provide support and buffs to their attacks with the overload ability.
Moto has two different classes: Order Calling and Charge Calling. While they have some moves in their sets in common, there are some differences to note. Order Calling is about supporting and buffing your mighty mini army, while Charge Calling is about pure destruction. Each of your robots in Charge Calling mode will gain the ability to self-destruct and depending on what you’ve leveled, the damage will be devastating. Despite the power Moto has, the reason he’s placed so far below is in how he plays. Once you’ve got your robots all powered up, they do all the work, leaving you to just buff them or wait for the next wave of enemies, so you can start the rotation all over again. It’s fun in short bursts but if you’re trying to go for the long run, it can get repetitive.
6Oracle Thea
As with all things godly, Oracle Theaattempts what she deems balanced in the game. Each of her four blessings provides a boost to attack power, speed, or a damage reduction received. If backed into a corner, or you just want to clear the room quickly, then you may absorb all the blessings you have stacked up and cast a giant AOE attack named Divine Punishment that also provides a bonus buff depending on which type of blessing you’ve used.
Technically a mage, Thea is very much an “easy to learn, hard to master” type when it comes to knowing which moves and equipment to equip. Not to mention, a lot of her power is going to come from items, not her innate stats. She is one of two units with a single class available, but as long as she has her magic, she doesn’t need more than one.
5Divineshot - Carino
Carino is as straightforward as a sharpshooter can be. His attacks are based on how much ammo he has currently, as well as special ammo that grants each Special Bullet with a damage boost among the other support skills you can equip. You don’t have to do anything special to use the special ammo either — it auto applies when it’s ready.

His paid class, Lethal Flash, comes with a few other abilities the free default class does not. Take Evil Ouroboros, the skill lets any normal ammunition boomerang back in the direction it came and damages any enemies that are in the way. It’s good for when your back is against the wall, and you need to dodge out of the way without sacrificing too much of your damage output. In the end, though, his gameplay is much of the same: shoot enemies until they get too close, then dodge and get out of the way. While he can mix up his playstyle a little bit by being able to create different elemental-based builds, it still amounts to more or less the same combat.
4Berserker - Rehan
No matter which of the two classes he is, Rehan is the embodiment of seething rage.He is a heavy hitter that uses giant swords, axes, and hammers to slam into the earth and create giant cracks in the earth doing AOE damage. Each of his skills is designed to amplify his strength and build his rage meter that much faster whether he’s attacking or defending. Don’t let his big stature fool you into thinking he’s slow and lacking speed, because he is surely going to blow that expectation out of the water as well.
He may not be as fast as Carino, but he is still very capable of bouncing all around the field as an unstoppable force heading toward an immovable object. Though objectively speaking, Rehan is a viable candidate for doing big numbers with your build, his default kit is kind of bland when it comes to abilities and passive. They make sense with his gameplay style, but when compared to the other heroes, he is sitting pretty much in the middle of the pack and relies on your equipment and talents for customization.
3Frostfire - Gemma
Commander of both ice and fire, this mage is all about damage, no matter the cost so long as she has a good time doing it. Once you build up her fusion energy, her attacks can cause both freeze and ignite debuffs with her attacks automatically at a high rate. In terms of raw elemental power, she is a formidable choice and can be mixed and matched with the lightning element for even more damage.
Her paid class, Frostbitten Heart, casts away all need for fire and accepts the cold into her heart as well as her attacks. She instead becomes all-powerful with both her automatic ring attack, aptly named Ring of Ice, and keeps herself from dying at the last second with Frostbite Casket. The only thing keeping her from holding the top spot is her lack of mobility due to being a spellcaster of the magical type.
2Cateye - Erika
What Youga and Gemma are to magic, Erika’s cateye class is to non-elemental damage. She is all about being fast and deadlyas she darts around the field at max speed while keeping her buffs, Stalker, and Cat’s Agility up and in rotation. Stalker is all about your movement, as the more you move, the more you build up Multistrike. Cat’s Agility, on the other hand, boots movement speed while offering a 200 percent increase (or decrease) to your movement speed.
Her biggest weakness is her inability to take advantage of any elemental magic. Instead, you have to rely on actively keeping her buffs up or risk losing power to compete with some of the heavier hitters on the roster. Both this class and Divineshot could be considered glass cannons: powerful, but fragile.
1Spacetime Witness - Youga
Youga is a bit of a controversial character to choose to place as high up as he is, but what Gemma lacks in mobility, Youga has in spades. Not only is he able to both cast and move across the field with ease, buthe can manipulate timeto summon a clone that does magic attacks right along with you for continuous damage.
His other Class, Spacetime Elapse, focuses on maximizing the amount of damage over time you can manage in your build while working with your Reaping ability, which takes the percentage of damage equal to how much you caused with all of your DOTs, effectively melting all enemies on the field. This form takes patience and skill to level though, so take caution when taking him out on the field.
