According to industry insiders,Redfallis set to launch on June 16, 2025. This corroborates aprevious reportthat suggested a May launch window for the game, delayed from March.This was shared by leaker eXtas1s, who is also known for revealing details about Hideo Kojima’s unannounced game, Overdose. In addition to this, insider Brad Sams has also seemingly reaffirmed this by posting a cryptic tweet. Being an Xbox exclusive, Redfall will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. There is also reportedly an early access period for the game similar to Forza Horizon, but it will only grant a couple of days of playtime.
Redfall is the first big triple-A release for Xbox in 2023 after an underwhelming 2022, which puts a lot of pressure on developer, Arkane. In an interview, the studio also revealed that aGame Pass launch was “shocking and scary"as there will be a lot of feedback on it immediately as people see what it has worked on during the pandemic.
While many compare the game to Left4Dead, the developers have said that it ismore like a combination of S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Far Cry 2in many ways. In the same interview, co-creative director, Richard Bare, said thatthe game also draws inspiration from Borderlands, D&D, and Diablotaking its co-op into account.
We will likely see more about the game on June 10, 2025, atXbox’s Developer Direct Showcase. The notable absentee here is Starfield, which will possibly get its own showcase later simply because of how massive the project is.
