The Witcher 3’snotice boards typically hold notices that let Geralt know about dangerous monsters in need of killing or other opportunities that need his skills. Between those important quests, he can also find announcements for other activities, such as horse racing.

Geralt can find a notice for one such race at Crow’s Perch. If you are hoping for a break from the game’s deadly monsters or morally ambiguous quests, you might enjoy simply racing down the roads of Velen instead. If you manage to win, you will be rewarded with money and equipment for your faithful steed, Roach.
How To Start Races: Crow’s Perch
The contract for this activity is at theCrow’s Perch notice board, at the very top of the settlement, after the blacksmiths.
You will need to walk through the settlement unless you havecompleted Return to Crookback Bog.You are likely to pass through during the questBloody Baron.
Once you have read it, you will need to go to the starting line, toward thewest of Crow’s Perchto speak to the organizer and start the quest.
The Races
You will becompeting against three different ridersin a series of one-on-one races. Each rider will give a different reward for defeating them.
He will give you aracing saddleand20 orensfor beating him.
Iron-Arse Hans
When beaten, he will give yousaddlebags,an item thatraises your carrying capacity.He also provides30 orens.
Black Bogdan
This rider gives youhorse blindersand40 orensfor outpacing him.
By defeating all three contestants, you willhave a full set of equipment for Roach,improving both yourcarrying capacityand yourability to travelon horseback.
The route will be the same each time, though you may encounter obstacles such as afallen logandbarrels spilling onto the roadduring the race. You willhave to jump over the logandswerve around the barrels.
Youmust not miss a checkpoint.You will need toturn Roach aroundto activate it before continuing the race, losing valuable time.
