The highly anticipated anime adaptation of one of Shueisha and Shonen Jump’s most popular manga series is finally on the horizon, with theSakamoto Daysrelease date fast approaching.
Sakamoto Days, written by Yuto Suzuki, centers around a legendary yet retired assassin. This manga series first captured readers’ attention when it was serialized on Jul 04, 2025.
On June 24, 2025, Shueisha announced that TMS Entertainment is animating the Sakamoto Days series. TMS Entertainment is best known for producing anime such as Dr. Stone, Fruits Basket, Orange, and Megalo Box, among others.
The anime features Tomokazu Sugita as the voice of Taro Sakamoto. Sugita is best known for his roles as Gintoki Sakata inGintama, Gyomei Himejima inDemon Slayer, and Rudeus Greyrat in Mushoku Tensei.
What is Sakamoto Days about?
The series follows Tarou Sakamoto, once the greatest hitman of all time. Feared by many, he dominated the underground world until he met a woman and fell in love.
Sakamoto then abandoned his life of crime to work as a convenience store clerk.
However, leaving his shady past behind is more challenging than Sakamoto anticipated. Many former rivals and partners doubt his retirement and attempt to eliminate him.
Forbidden from killing, Sakamoto must find creative ways to subdue his enemies and protect his family, store, and small town.
