SD Gundam Battle Alliance is a hack-and-slashGundamcrossover game that features playable Mobile Suits from across the various incarnations of the widely beloved ongoing mech series, all in a Super Deformed style that a few Gundam series and many other spinoff series in Japan are known for.

Despite having an abundance of playable Mobile Suits from all across the Gundam multiverse as well as some unplayable ace and boss units, there are still some notable Mobile Suits that are missing. Whether some are planned as future DLC is currently unknown, but many Mobile Suits still should be added in.

10Atlas Gundam

Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt has a few representatives in Battle Alliance, but this does not include the Atlas Gundam, the current Gundam Io Fleming pilots in the ongoing Gundam Thunderbolt manga series.

Key features of the Atlas Gundam include being adept at underwater combat, a rail gun that can easily destroy other amphibious mobile suits with just one shot, and two sub-legs meant to be used for Earth’s gravity. The Atlas Gundam also has a submarine mode and a flight mode, although the former probably wouldn’t be used in Battle Alliance due to the lack of areas it could be used in.

9G-Saviour Origin

This may be a controversial pick, not due to the Gundam itself, but because of where it came from. The G-Saviour Origin Gundam is from a live-action television movie called Mobile Suit Gundam G Saviour, a Japanese and Canadian production released for the series' 20th anniversary.

While the movie didn’t get the best reception, it still received an eponymous novel adaptation and aJapan-exclusive Playstation 2sequel game. In addition to its Origin Mode, the G-Saviour Gundam has a Terrain Mode and a Space Mode for different battle locations. The G-Saviour Gundam may not often appear in recent Gundam crossover media, but that’s exactly why it should be added to Battle Alliance.

8Gundam Maxter

Mobile Fighter G-Gundam, a more fantastical anime than other Gundam series, has a few playable Gundams in Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Alliance, such as the Burning Gundam and the Master Gundam, but no other Gundams from the series are present.

One of these missing Gundams is Gundam Maxter, the Gundam representative for the United States, whose design is based on American Football and Boxing. Gundam Maxter can use its large shoulder pads as boxing gloves when switching modes. It also has Gigantic Magnum revolver guns in its hip and a shield that can be used as an air or surfboard, which would all help make it a unique playable character in Battle Alliance.

7Acguy/Bearguy/Nyaguy

Acguy was originally seen in the first Mobile Suit Gundam series but had some interesting designs based on it called the Bearguy and the Nyaguy that appeared in the Model Suit Gunpla Builders Beginning G OVA and the Model Suit Gunpla Builders Beginning J photonovel side story, respectively. Due to their rounder designs, they already look like they’re in the Super-Deformed style, so they’d fit into Battle Alliance well.

Acguy’s weapons include two vulcan guns, a missile launcher, a mega particle cannon, and an iron nail. Bearguy swaps out the two vulcan guns and iron nail for two additional mega particle cannons and a beam recorder, with Nyagguy having similar weapons.

6Blue Destiny Unit 2

The Blue Destiny Unit 2 Mobile Suit first appeared in the Japan-exclusive Sega Saturn game, Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: Blue Destiny, and is an alternately colored variant of the Gundam Ground Type from the Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team OVA series.

The Blue Destiny Unit 2 doesn’t have any unique weapons, but it does use the EXAM system, which allows average pilots to use Newtype-related abilities due to it integrating the abilities into the Mobile Suits. It can also battle on Earth or in space by switching its backpack. Adding this Mobile Suit to Battle Alliance would provide an alternate version of the Ground Type while acknowledging an older Gundam game.

5Gundam AGE-1 Normal

In 2011,Level-5 and Sunrisecollaborated and created the Mobile Suit Gundam AGE multimedia series — although the games and anime series were never released in the west. Battle Alliance features the AGE FX 1 as DLC, but no other Mobile Suits from the series.

Adding the other AGE Gundams from the series, such as the Gundam AGE-1 Normal, the first Mobile Suit in the Gundam AGE line, would be great. Being the first of its kind, the AGE-1 Normal was the first Gundam to use the AGE system, which analyzes how pilots evolve over time and it adapts accordingly. It also has a unique beam rolling lance, which is more powerful than a standard beam saber.

4Pale Rider

The Pale Rider Mobile Suit first appeared in the Japan-exclusive PlayStation 3 game Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: Missing Link and is controlled by the Hyper Animosity Detect Estimate System, or HADES, rather than a pilot, but still requires a pilot to fully function.

Named after one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, specifically Death, the Pale Rider has several design elements based on the protagonist’s Mobile Suits from previous Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story games, but no weapons unique to it, opting to use more common Gundam-related weapons such as a vulcan gun, beam saber, and more. Still, this Mobile Suit deserves a spot in Battle Alliance due to its unique design.

3Crossbone X3

The other versions of Crossbone Gundam, X-1 and X-2, are already in SD Gundam Battle Alliance, so adding the third version should be a no-brainer. Like its predecessors, Crossbone Gundam X3 debuted in the original Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam manga series.

The Crossbone Gundam X-3 includes some radical changes from its predecessors, including arm-mounted beam-dispersing i-field generators instead of beam shields. This Gundam is also equipped with many weapons, including those of its predecessors, but the most notable is the Muramasa Blaster, a combined beam saber and beam gun shaped like a rapier that can only be used briefly due to its power usage.

2MS-18NF Titania

Not to be confused with several other Mobile Suits called Titania in various Gundam series, the MS-18NF Titania is a Mobile Suit that first appeared in theBattle Operation Code Fairyvideo game. A reconfigured version of the Kampfer, Titania has more armor and several thruster tanks to make up for its weight increase.

The Titania has several weapons on its body and can also be equipped with some standard Mobile Suit weapons. Titania’s most notable weapon is its beam machine gun, used in one of the final fights against Zeon during the One Year War. This Mobile Suit should be added to Battle Alliance due to its unique weapon and game exclusivity.

1Gundam Aerial

The star Mobile Suit of the Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch From Mercury anime series, Gundam Aerial, is notable because it is the first Gundam in that series' universe. Unlike similar GUND-ARM units, it doesn’t harm the pilot.

The Gundam Aerial has a handful of interesting weapons, including the escutcheon, similar to an anti-beam field, and multiple bit staves that can act as mobile turrets, beam cannons, or shields and combine into a long-barreled GUND-BIT rifle. The anime series came out after Battle Alliance, so it makes sense why Aerial wouldn’t be included, but it could be added in the future due to its popularity.
