After nearly a decade,SpongeBob SquarePantsgot a brand-new 3D platformer in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake. This new adventure has SpongeBob and a balloon version of Patrick traveling to different realms to rescue their friends that had been sucked into portals. Because it is new, it is also one of the first SpongeBob games to get a full list of achievements to earn.

Each achievement ranges between simply finishing levels and accomplishing a specific challenge. While some of these are straightforward, many others are simply very difficult to get. It’s worth mentioning that the achievement “One Sponge To Rule Them All,” which is the achievement for collecting all the achievements, is excluded from this list.

10Jaws With Flaws

The Cosmic Shake introduces various jelly enemies we haven’t seen before. One that is introduced in the later levels is Burrowers. Theseworm-like cosmic creaturesare massive, digging underground and shooting up to hit SpongeBob. Luckily, its attack doesn’t only hurt SpongeBob.

Most times, the Burrower will be joined by a handful of other jelly enemies. If you are able to time it well, you can make the enemies stand right on top of where the Burrower pops out of the ground. The “Jaws with Flaws” achievement challenges you to defeat ten enemies using this method.

9Return To Sender

Along withthe basic enemiesthat do nothing but just attempt to attack you, there are also Jelly Makers. These sentient piles of goo will angrily sit there and shoot enemies at you constantly until you hit it three times. While there are plenty of moves that SpongeBob can use against the jelly, an achievement awards you for taking a more creative approach.

Knocking an enemy into the Jelly Maker will deal damage to it. So in the “Return to Sender” achievement, you will need to find five Jelly Makers and hit them three times each using other enemies. There are certain areas where this can be very difficult, but there are a couple of corners of Bikini Bottom where you can defeat one, reset, and defeat it again in a short grinding session.

8Fashion Hunter

One of the newer twists in The Cosmic Shake is that you are able to dress SpongeBob up in a variety of costumes, some of which tie directly into the levels that you visit. However, there are also a ton of costumes that can be purchased the more doubloons you collect. Earning all costumes gets you the “Fashion Hunter” achievement.

In all, there are a total of 35 different costumes in the game, with only a couple available from the start and a total of seven costumes that are earned by just completing the campaign. However, there are a bunch that can only be purchased once you reach new tiers. Plus, there are two that require completing side quests.

7SpongeLock HolmesPants

A big part of The Cosmic Shake is its collect-a-thon elements. Many levels have some sort of collectible that is worth looking for to complete specific side quests. However, there is one secret collectible that fans of SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom will be very familiar with:golden spatulas.

Unlike that game, The Cosmic Shake has only one golden spatula in each level of the game. To achieve the “SpongeLock HolmesPants” achievement, you must find all eight that are available. They are likely hiding in the most hidden places in each level, so it is important to dig for them.

There is no question that the most difficult achievements in the game are ones that require beating the bosses in a specific way, requiring the most amount of skill. For example, the first “boss” is a chase involving Mr. Krabs, who does not want to return to Bikini Bottom since he is getting rich in an alternate reality.

For “The Good, The Bad, and the Krabby” award, you must catch Mr. Krabs in under three minutes. That includes chasing his train on your seahorse, then quickly movingfrom train carto train car knocking out enemies as quickly as possible to advance. Keep in mind that there are some train cars you’re able to just move right through without defeating enemies.

5Wrath-tub

Early on, SpongeBob will have to deal with a beefy enemy in the Big Jelly. These muscular creatures carry around a bathtub that they use as a weapon. They can either swing the tub down or spin around with it. SpongeBob must avoid his attacks, but so do the other Jellies.

Similar to the Burrower, Big Jelly’s attacks can lead to friendly fire and the death of other Jellies in battle. With regard to the “Wrath-tub” achievement, Big Jelly must accidentally defeat 25 enemies with its tub for you to get this award. Like any of these enemy-based achievements, there are specific locations where grinding for this achievement makes things easier.

4Wanna See Me Do It Again?

The “Wanna See Me Do It Again?” achievement is a bit strange given what the achievement says it is and what you have to do. Its description states that you need to “clear every level and defeat the final boss.” But those that just run through each level and beat the game may find that they won’t earn the achievement.

That is because there is a heavy emphasis on “clear” here. You not only have to get through every level’s main quest, but you must also get all the collectibles in each level as well. That means those side quests that you pick up, which add those collectibles after the initial clear, must be collected to get this particular trophy.

3Dehydrated

Weirdly enough, there are two boss fights in the Cosmic Shake that involve Pearl. In thePrehistoric Kelp Forest level, she is the main attacker as she throws a tantrum to keep SpongeBob from saving Squidward. She has a variety of attacks, but the key attack here are her shockwaves.

With the “Dehydrated” achievement, SpongeBob must avoid being hit with the shockwaves. This can get challenging as the battle goes on as these waves come faster and bigger with each successful attack made by SpongeBob. Despite being called “Dehydrated,” the achievement has nothing to do with avoiding Pearl’s crying attack.

2Pet You Didn’t See Coming

In the Halloween Rock Bottom level, SpongeBob will have to face-off against his beloved Gary, who has now transformed into a monster thanks to the ridiculous amount of candy he has consumed. However, this is not so much a battle as it is astealth mission.

The goal of the “Pet You Didn’t See Coming” achievement is to stay hidden from Gary at all times. That means if he spots you at any point, you must restart the battle from the top. Successfully navigating the level and destroying the vending machines before Gary spots you will give you this difficult reward.

1Kah-Rah-Tay King

It doesn’t matter how easy a boss fight is, trying to overcome it without taking damage can be a tall task. That is why the hardest achievement in the game is “Kah-Rah-Tay King,” which can be achieved in the final battle of the Downtown Bikini Bottom level.

In this fight, SpongeBob takes on Sandy in a fight that is being filmed fora massive blockbuster movie. To go the entire fight without getting hit, SpongeBob must avoid being hit by Sandy’s giant wheel, numerous enemies, and running security guards that only provide specific areas for room. The key here is to use the dodge button religiously.
