But that’s not all you may do. You can buy new clothes for your avatar, challenge other players to a fight, and even play arcade versions of classic games like Final Fight and Street Fighter 2. According to producer Shuhei Matsumoto, theinspiration for this came during the Covid-19 induced lockdown.

“Especially with COVID, there’s not many opportunities to go to arcades and socialize with your friends,” said Matsumoto. “So, we felt like, ‘What if we made an online version of an arcade? Are we able to do that within Street Fighter?’ That was a challenge we wanted to take on and recreate because we grew up in the era of going to arcades with our friends, and that’s something we have fond memories of.”

For fans of WWE, Street Fighter 6 will featurecommentary by Zelina Vega and Thea Trinidad. Unlike announcers in games like Mortal Kombat, commentators will deliver lines during gameplay. The AI will pick out a moment to use one of the pre-recorded lines, making it look like Vego or Trinidad are delivering them live. They join Jeremy “Vicious” Lopez, James Chen, and Tasty Steve as English commentators and Kosuke Hiraiwa, Aru, and Demon Kakka in Japanese.
