A December release at the end of 2022,Lil Gator Gamecaptured the hearts of many with its heartfelt and hilarious story about a Lil Gator attempting to get Big Sis to play with them as they did when they were little kids. The goal is to run around and recruit other kids to help create a great game.

Cade at his fluffiest state in Lil Gator Game

It feels great to run around, climb up hills, glide in the air, and destroy cardboard standees of silly monsters. But what drives Lil Gator Game is its characters, of which there are plenty. And while they are all unique to the story, a handful stands out among the rest.

10Cade

A black bull, Cade can be found standing on the docks on the shore. He will tell Lil Gator that cowsdon’t swimand that if they do, their fur will get very fluffy. Meanwhile, a friendly sheep named Marlow looks on and wonders if Cade will make the jump.

After a little game of telephone back and forth, Cade is encouraged to jump into the water by Marlow. We then see the comedic results as Cade is now swollen up and is actually happy with the way he looks. Later at the playground, a still-inflated Cade will tell you that he struggles to do some things, but he is ok with that for the “price of beauty.”

9Gunther

Gunther may be someone you stumble upon relatively early on right outside the playground. The little purple hippo is standing in the middle of the grass when he first starts talking out loud to get Lil Gator’s attention. When you go up to him, he will want to eagerlybecome your sidekick.

When you agree, Gunther will begin to walk with you for a very brief moment before he needs to catch his breath. Once you check on him, he’ll keep going for another brief moment before stopping again. At some point, Gunther gives up and decides to head to the playground instead to become Tom’s sidekick, which perfectly involves just staying in one place.

8Tiffany

Another character that can be found close to the playground is a Siamese cat named Tiffany, who is sitting alone at a tea party table dressed as a princess. She wants Lil Gator to clear all the non-pink cardboard standees out of the way to make the place look fancy for her party.

Once you are done with this, Tiffany will say that her guest is busy with a meeting. She is talking about her mother, who is nearby standing and talking on her phone. Lil Gator can go and convince her to hang-up, leading to an adorable scene of Tiffany with her mom having the party together.

7Twig

Some characters in Lil Gator Game have relatively small appearances, but even that little bit can leave quite the impact. Take Twig, the hyperactive Pomeranian who is hanging out on one of the mountain sides. You may see them running around, but they will stop and eagerly wait to talk to Lil Gator.

Lil Gator will ask Twig to give them a quest and the quest is rather simple: do a flip. This can be done with either the shield orby being a ragdoll. Either way, Twig will get so excited and will eagerly go back to the playground, where they will be seen running around at all times.

6Duke

Throughout the game, Lil Gator is tasked with visiting each of his three friends he started the game with, each of which have their own group of friends they hang with. Duke the Duck is part of Marvin’s squad of cool kids, and at first he seems to only know how to squawk.

When Duke is attempting to guard one of the water pumps, he is overheard talking to himself. Lil Gator attempts to call him out for having actually used words, which leads to a hilarious fake court case that is reminiscent ofL.A. Noire’s interrogations. The reasoning behind why Duke acts the way he does and how he evolves is one of the best parts of Lil Gator Game.

5Marvin

Speaking of Marvin, he deserves a spot on this list for being one of the better supporting characters to Lil Gator. From the start, Marvin comes across as a chill horse who is blunt in telling Lil Gator that it might be better to just have an adult conversation with Big Sis instead of trying to create this big game to sway her.

Marvin also hangs out with his friends at the water fountain that isn’t on. At first, he and his buddies act like they don’t want the water and even guard it to prevent Lil Gator from turning it on. But soon, after breaking through everyone’s “cool” side, Marvin is appreciative of Lil Gator for allowing all of them to let their guard down.

4Esme

While trying to help Avery gather her friends, you will get to spend time with Esme. She is a bat that likes to play as a vampire. After the initial scene where Avery’s friends go out to do their own thing, you will find her in a cave with fake candles everywhere and her sitting on a throne.

To convince her to return to Avery, you need to do some things for her. This includes getting ice cream from a vendor across from the cave, which happened to be a blood-colored Black Cherry Sorbet. Esme will also turn Lil Gator into a vampire and attempt to force them to stay in the cave, where Lil Gator can sway her with some humorous solutions to the sunlight.

3Lil Gator

It is hard to not put Lil Gator on this list somewhere as the whole game is about them wanting to go on a hero’s journey while trying to also convince everybody to return to the playground and decorate it for Big Sis. From the beginning, we meet Lil Gator as an even smaller alligator when their sister and them began playing the game.

Flash forward to today, and Lil Gator is this eager ball of sunshine looking to get everyone to play the game with them. The conclusion to it, as Lil Gator reconciles with the fact that Big Sis is an adult and sometimes needs to focus her energy on that, leads to a touching conversation and a heartfelt thanks from Lil Gator for all the fun things Big Sis did for them growing up.

2Bracelet Merchant

While still in the tutorial, you will run into a monkey with a lot of Bracelets. They will not tell you their name, instead insisting that they give you a bracelet that will ultimately help Lil Gatorclimb up hillsides. After getting the first bracelet, the merchant will disappear and reappear in a couple of other tall locations throughout the main island.

After collecting all the bracelets, you find out that the accessories did nothing and Lil Gator could climb without any need for stamina the whole time. While this moment is hysterical, it gets better when the merchant returns to the playground and reveals their true name, but never sticking to one and changing it constantly.

1Avery

Another one of Lil Gator’s close friends from the beginning of the game, Avery is a very excited frog who is eager to help Lil Gator with their mission but also tends to get sidetracked into thinking about something other than the mission at hand. From the beginning, Avery has an obsession with restaurants, which stays persistent throughout the game.

They also make many silly appearances and, in one scene, cartwheels into the water and keeps going. When the restaurant ends up being their big solution to their friends not agreeing on what to play, they can’t even remember that being the solution because they got distracted thinking about slime monsters with funny hats. They are thecomic reliefof Lil Gator’s main squad.
