There are few things inMagic: The Gatheringmore intimidating than facing down a card you just can’t stop. Even cards with evasive abilities like hexproof or flying can be stopped in other ways, but cards with indestructible can feel like an impossible hurdle.

If you’re looking to upgrade your decks then it might be about time to bring your own power to the table. Whether you want a single powerful creature, an unbreakable artifact horde, or a way to keep all your creatures safe then these cards are the way to go.

10Darksteel Forge

Darksteel Forge is one of those artifacts that can swing the entire game in your favor. Sitting at a hefty nine generic mana,Darksteel Forge grants all artifacts, itself included, indestructible as long as it’s in play. Accelerating up to nine mana isn’t difficult at all, especially in a deck with tons of artifact ramp.

A popular combo with Darksteel Forge is Mycosynth Lattice, which turns all permanents in play into artifacts, and with the Forge out, all your permanents are now indestructible.

Brash Taunter

9Brash Taunter

This aggressive little Goblin is an extremely funny way to push damage when your opponent is content to sit back and watch the game play out. For just three mana you can tap Brash Taunter to force it to fight another creature, except when Brash Taunter is dealt damage, you also deal that much damage to an opponent.

With indestructible, you can 1v1 an opponent’s 10/10 creature to redirect that damage to any opponent. Brash Taunter is also an amazing blocker, putting up an iron defense to deter any would-be attackers coming your way.

Zetalpa Primal Dawn

8Zetalpa, Primal Dawn

Sometimes all it takes to win a game of Magic is some mana, a really big Dinosaur that can’t be destroyed, and a dream. Zetalpa, Primal Dawn is loaded with all sorts of impressive keywords, making it an immediate threat as soon as it hits the tabletop.

Thanks to its indestructibility you can safely swing away with Zetalpa, dealing a good chunk of damage and still holding it up as a blocker in case your opponent wants to snap back at you. Exiling it and preventing it from attacking are among the few ways to permanently shut down Zetalpa and if your opponent doesn’t have them at the ready you’ll quickly take over the game.

7Toski, Bearer Of Secrets

If you’re a creature-heavy deck and you’re running green,Toski, Bearer of Secrets is a great inclusion to your deck. With Toski in play, you can easily refill your hand every turn since your creatures now draw cards when they deal combat damage to your opponents.

Plan your attacks carefully and don’t be worried about picking on the player with no creatures in play. While Toski is among the smallest creatures with indestructible, the fact that it will survive most board wipes while helping you gain card advantage cannot be overstated.

6Kaldra Compleat

One of the shining pieces of equipment in Legacy, Kaldra Compleat is a powerful artifact that can quickly close a game out on its own. While it does not have indestructible on its own, it doesgrantit along with several other powerful keywords.

Kaldra Compleat does have a high mana cost, seven generic mana, you’ll likely never cast it this way. Instead, you’ll play it for free with cards like Stoneforge Mystic in play. This two-card combo can quickly overwhelm your opponent, and since it is an equipment card with living weapon you can get around having to equip it by automatically attaching it to a Germ token when it comes into play.

5Athreos, God Of Passage

Whether you’re running Athreos, God of Passage as your commander or in the 99, this legendary enchantment and the occasional creature is a huge threat to your opponents. Getting Athreos to be a creature isn’t your primary concern, it’s his extremely powerful ability.

Whenever a creature you control dies you can kindly ask an opponent if you can get your humble creature back, and if they decline then they lose three life. Start targeting the weakest player and you’ll have a powerful recursion engine that is a win-win no matter what your opponent picks.

4Heliod, Sun-Crowned

Another god from Theros, Heliod, Sun-Crowned is an engine all on its own. Much like Athreos, Heliod is great as a commander or as an inclusion in your deck. For just two mana it can give any creature lifelink until end of turn, and thenwhen you gain life in any way, you distribute a +1/+1 counter on a creature or enchantment you control.

When combined with other cards that trigger multiple instances of life gain you may watch your creatures get stronger and stronger.

3Ulamog, The Ceaseless Hunger

Asone of the biggest creaturesin Magic: The Gathering, Ulamog, The Ceaseless Hunger casts an ominous shadow over the game. With indestructible tacked on to a 10/10 body, Ulamog is a powerful attacker who comes with a few extra tricks.

With a cast trigger, it exiles two permanents, taking care of the two biggest threats from your opponents. Then every time it attacks it places a huge amount of pressure on your opponents by exiling the top 20 cards of their library.

2Avacyn, Angel Of Hope

Similar to Darksteel Forge comes Avacyn, Angel of Hope giving indestructible to everything you control this time. For just eight mana thisindestructible Angel keeps all your permanents safe, vulnerable to only a few cards and effects.

Exiling certainly works in taking care of Avacyn, same with dealing out -1/-1 counters. Without some sort of answer to Avacyn however, your opponents will be facing down your indestructible board state.

1Blightsteel Colossus

Not only is Blightsteel Colossus a massive artifact creature but with infect, it comes with an alternate win condition too. It will likely only take an attack or two to give someone enough poison counters to kick someone out of the game.

Blightsteel Colossus is twice as hard to remove with its ability to shuffle back into your library if it would enter the graveyard from anywhere. Once it makes its way onto the board it is a virtually unstoppable infecting, indestructible machine.
