In the grim dark world ofWarhammer 40k Darktide, you’ll need more than your wits to come out alive. The chaos incursion has turned most of the people of Hive Tertium into horrific poxwalkers. The surviving rejects are tasked to fight back against Nurgle’s armies and do what they can to survive.

As you venture out into the dank underhive, you’ll encounterall sorts of enemies. To defeat them and escape with your lives, you’ll need the best weapons with the best perks to cut through the swaths of enemies the world throws at you. No matter what class you choose, there are some weapon perks that are best suited for you.

10Deflector

A somewhat common perk found in melee weapons across the underhive, this lets you block ranged and melee attacks and reduces the cost of doing so on the character’s stamina.

Whether you’re really focused on the hack-and-slash aspect of Darktide or like to have the force sword as an ammo-less last-ditch weapon for when things get hairy, this is a solid choice. Being able to block incoming damage (and do so for longer) can be the difference between being downed early or being able to come out of a fight by the skin of your teeth.

9Charmed Reload

The Heavy-Stubber is a weapon that chews up ammo rather quickly. This belt-fed weapon has a rather long reload, so it is best to be avoided or timed right.

With Charmed Reload, the gun instantly reloads a handful of shells every time you make a critical hit against an enemy. This is great for getting in a little bit more damage at the end of your ammo belt. In addition, if you combine this with a perk or curio that allows for a bigger chance at critical hits, you can extend the length of your belt quite a bit; doing so deals more damage before you have to switch weapons or begin a lengthy reload.

8Slaughterer

The biggest focusfor an Ogrynis how to better fight for The Emperor; what better way than to just hit the enemy harder? That’s where Slaughterer comes into play.

This perk is often found in the Ogryn cleaver and adds more power to the weapon with every kill you make within three and a half seconds of one another. Not only is more power more damage, but greater stagger as well. This means that every kill with the cleaver does double duty, not only killing one enemy but making it easier to kill the next. This stacks, too, making it invaluable for the heavy-hitting Ogryn.

7Ceaseless Barrage

The Twin-Linked Heavy Stubber is a weapon that would make anyone duck and cover. Why not add even more suppression to it by adding the Ceaseless Barrage perk to it?

With this perk, the longer you continue firing the weapon, the more suppression it gains. This is great for when enemies are putting a little too much pressure on you. Causing them to take cover and peek out to try and shoot back may seem like a worse idea than being an open target to you, but it has advantages. Enemies being locked into cover means you can take some time to get a different position and grab ammo or health. When timed right, your Marksman can also take their time to headshot said enemies or your other companions can move to flank them.

6Momentum

Toughness is a great thing to have and boost when you may in Darktide. It is a sort of buffer that absorbs a bit of damage before it affects your health. With the momentum perk, you regain some toughness for every attack you hit three or more enemies with.

This is great for melee fighters who like to be the focal point of the fight. As the enemies swarm you, you’re able to swing wildly and gain toughness with every hit. The more you hit, the harder you are to kill, which sounds like a perfect trade in the world of Warhammer.

5Between The Eyes

Perfecting your aim isn’t justfor the Marksman, although they can be better suited for it. Aiming for the enemy’s weakspots is a great way to make sure every shot does the most damage it can. Not only can this cut down on the length of fights, but it also saves ammo.

With Between The Eyes, every time you hit a weakspot, you clear any suppression you may have and gain immunity to further suppression. Avoiding suppression is a must for anyone trying to get a good shot in; so for every solid shot you make with this perk, you have a greater chance of doing so again.

4Stripped Down

A simple perk, but it’s a valuable one for those who like to dart in and out of the fight. This perk gives you a small boost to your sprinting speed. This is great for Psykers and Veterans who want to move in and out of combat or who want to move about for their best shots.

Being able to move freely and quickly can be all the difference between getting bogged down by a swarm of enemies. While this isn’t the most flashy of perks, it can be invaluable when you know how to use it properly.

3Blaze Away

Sometimes it’s best to pick your shots; other times, just shooting at anything that moves is the best way to go. For those other times, the Blaze Away perk may be perfect for you.

For this perk, as you keep shooting for longer and longer portions of time, you gain power in intervals for each of your concurrent shots. This is perfect for staggering or further damaging your foes, especially if you’re the type who needs to waste a few bullets to get a better bead on the enemy.

Combined with other perks, your power can grow exponentially. Plus, you can combine this with your teammate’s tactics to stop an enemy rush in their tracks.

2Run ‘N Gun

Being a mobile attacker is a great way to stay alive for longer. A mobile target is harder to hit, and you can strafe your enemies to distract them and kite them away from your teammates.

Run ‘N Gun allows you to hip-fire while sprinting with whatever weapon the perk is attached to. Granted, this hip-firing isn’t going to be super accurate, but it’s great for getting a few potshots off on the enemy while your teammates get a better aim at select targets. It can really get you out of a pinch when you get surrounded too, and anything that will allow for that has plenty of inherent value.

1Shattering Impact

Armored foes can really turn the tide of a fight. Focusing on their weakspots or tearing them apart with explosives can be both time-consuming and costly. Why not find a better way to avoid their armor?

Shattering Impact is a perk that increases the Rending status of certain guns. Rending is somewhat similar to other games’ versions of armor piercing. It avoids some of the armor of the enemy being hit and begins to destroy their armor’s ability to negate damage.

Darktide Character Aiming Boltgun

This can be found in a handful of weapons, most notably the Bolter. With this perk, said weapon can make dealing with armored foes far faster. Just remember to focus fire on them first to make sure that you’re not wasting ammo on unarmored opponents first.
