The Mugged Muggs
You can accept this quest from adwarf by the Southern Gate fast travel pointin Novigrad. He will be waiting by the road witha yellow exclamation mark by his name.He tells Geralt that he had beenrobbed of his documentsand needs help retrieving them.
While he does not know where the thief went, hesmashed the man on the headwith abottle of dwarven spirit.This is more than enough information for Geralt, who can nowbegin the investigation.
Go to the marked location andinspect the broken bottleon the ground to pick up the scent. The strong stench of alcohol is easy enough for the witcher to follow, leading him toa nearby innand a man named Gerd.
Delusions, Duels, Or Decks
Gerd will tell Geralt a different story. He claims to have beaten Muggs in a game of Gwent and had taken the documents as a prize. Muggs, being a sore loser, promptlysmacked Gerd with a bottlein a futile attempt to get the documents back.
You will havethree choicesin dealing with the situation.
Gwent
Geralt can play for the documents. Gerd usesa Nilfgaardian deckthat may includean emphasis on Siege cards.He isnot too difficult to defeat.
Brawl
Geralt can choose tosettle the matter with his fistsbydemanding the papers.This fight is easy to win becauseGerd will surrender after a few hits.
Axii
If you haveDelusion at level one,Geralt will be able tocast Axii on the man, getting the documents without further trouble.
You willnot be able to complete the quest without retrieving the documents.While you can return to Muggs without them, he will insist that you retrieve them.
With the documents in hand, Geralt canreturn to Muggsfor a small experience point reward and 20 crowns.
