The problem with historically accurate-ish games likeAge Of Empires 2, is that reality is definitely harder to succeed in. The game revolves around numerous cultures at certain points in their histories. You can potentially learn a lot from playing through, but the game certainly won’t make it easy for you.

The amount of strategy and planning that you need to do in order to guarantee victory is almost surprising. Completing the game’s missions is an achievement in itself, but you’ll have to put in some overtime if you’re aiming for 100 percent completion since some of them are quite demanding.
8Out With A Bang
It shouldn’t be any surprise that kings are important figures in almost any context. In Age Of Empires 2,kings playpivotal roles in the campaign and the missions themselves. There are multiple instances where you’ll have a king or the enemy will have a king that will be heavily guarded by huge armies and structures.
Because of this, you’ll need to whittle down their forces just to have a shot at them. It’s even harder when you have to make a clear and safe path directly to the king for your Petard or Demolition Ship to get close enough to finish the king with a blast.
7Unexpected
Religionwas all the rage in the medieval ages, with whole empires willing to go to war to prove their beliefs were the rights ones. You’ll get a glimpse of this when playing as Spain and gaining access to the Missionary units.
These are mounted units that play a support role in being able to heal and convert enemies to your side. While this may sound like a powerful ability, it’s also quite risky since Missionaries are relatively weak and need to rest after converting a unit. Considering that units rarely travel alone, this achievement can definitely feel like a grind.
6Marco Polo
The concept of Fog of War was introduced to gaming thanks to real-time strategy games. This could be seen as their most realistic mechanic since back then, people didn’t always have access to the lay of the land.

When you start a mission or a match, it’s normal to send a defenseless worker into the darkness if only to get an idea of what’s out there. It can take a while to locate the enemy location, but even longer to explore the whole map. Some of themaps are ridiculously huge, and this achievement tests your patience with uncovering 99 percent of just one of them.
5Kaboom
Armies are always willing totry out explosivesbecause of how effective and destructive they can be, regardless of the consequences. Among all the units that can harness such power, the Demolition Ship is high on the list. Simply put, this is a wooden ship that is filled with nothing but exploding barrels.
Its only purpose is to sail into whatever you don’t like and make it not be there anymore. The problem with trying to take out enemy units with this ship is that they need to be in the water or at least on the shore. If you don’t have the patience to wait for more enemy ships to show up, you’ll need to be more aggressive.
4Family Feudal
Campaign missionscan seem long, but if you know what you’re doing, they can be over in a matter of minutes. As such, you’ll focus on building your forces quickly with a cheap, but reliable base to provide decent support.
Of course, if you’re a fan of the long game, campaign missions do offer plenty of time to build yourself up. Ideally, you’d want to wait for a scenario that gives you plenty of time with an enemy threat that isn’t too dangerous. It’s not easy to get these to align but once they do, you may build your way to this achievement.
3Masterpiece
Almost every RTs game has an online component with players trying to prove who’s the best. In a way, these titles are a complex form ofchesswith so many strategies and units to master. You may be naturally gifted or have put in the time to understand all that the game has to offer, but multiple human opponents working against you will be quite the challenge.

If you’re not able to come up with good counters or spawn in a less-than-ideal part of the map, this can take many attempts. However, when you do win, this achievement will be a testament to your skill.
2Raja Of The People
There are so many missions in Age Of Empires 2 that it’s not easy to decide which ones stand out the most. Some of the most memorable are those that pose the biggest challenges or have a difficult achievement connected to them. This is why Born Of Fire stands out with an additional boost for being the first in the Prithviraj campaign.
You’ll be controlling the Gurjaras on a pretty sizable map. In addition to the main mission, you’re alerted to two allied villages that both need your help. Since they’re on opposite sides of the map, quick playingis required to reach and save each one before either gets beyond saving.
