For those who’ve never heard of this classic,Terrariais a sandbox-style game similar toMinecraftwith RPG elements and enormous boss fights. It’s long been loved by fans worldwide since its debut in May 2011, just months before its legendary competitor. Despite it not being as popular as Minecraft, it still deserves its flowers and is one of the highest-rated games on Steam.

Achievement hunters are in for a treat since some achievements are based purely on luck while others require high levels of skill and a lot of dying. From fighting three bosses at once to simply finding and slaying that which troubles a lost girl deep in the caverns, we’re bound to find someDark Souls-level endeavors to pursue in Terraria.

10I’m Smelting!

This achievement is incredibly tedious and just an annoyance to do. To unlock it, you must smelt 10,000 bars of metal in a furnace using any of the available ore in your world. It’s as painful of a task as it sounds since the bars in Terraria require multiple ores to make just one bar. The rarer the bar, the more ore is required. To put it into perspective, it takes 30-35,000 ore to craft 10,000 iron bars, which only takes three ore per bar.

That’s not only a lot of mining but also a lot of time spent actually seeking out the ore deposits. Be prepared tospend many hours miningand even more time searching for new caves you haven’t yet explored.

Terraria NPC Housing With Mine Attached

9Supreme Helper Minion

Do you like fishing? If so, this is the achievement you’ll enjoy getting despite how long it may take. For this one, you have to complete a whopping 200 Angler quests for the Angler NPC. It’s not all bad, however. The Angler gives out rewards for the quests that you may consider ‘good’ if you fish a lot. Different levels of bait, potions to boost what you reel in, and even a golden fishing rod are some of the rewards you can obtain from these otherwise tedious quests.

The objective is simple enough: go to a certain biome, find a body of water, and fish until you randomly reel in the unique fish he’s asked for. The difficulty comes from how long it can take to find these fish. Not to mention fighting off hostile mobs while fishing and the quests resetting every in-game day. If you take too long and the day passes, you’ve essentially wasted your time.

Terraria Character Fishing

8Rainbows And Unicorns

This achievement’s difficulty comes from obtaining the mount you’ll need to ride. All you need to do is ride a unicorn mount while shooting a rainbow gun, both of which are only obtainable in Hardmode. The Blessed Apple item needed to summon the mount is also only obtainable from the unicorn enemy, which only spawns in the Hallow biome.

This enemy is extremely difficult in early Hardmode since it resists most knockback and deals high DPS. The Blessed Apple only has a 2.5 percent drop rate, which is much better than it once was. At one point it had a 0.5 percent drop rate, so it’s not as bad, but it still is a lengthy grind.

7Sword Of The Hero

This achievement requires a lot of crafting and a bit of luck. First, you need to craft the Night’s Edge at a demon altar, which requires the following swords to craft: the Blade of Grass, Muramasa, Fiery Greatsword, and Light’s Bane/Blood Butcherer depending on your world’s evil.

After that, you’ll have to craft the True Night’s Edge by combining the Broken Hero Sword with the Night’s Edge to have the best sword pre-Plantera. It’s a great investment for those struggling with the mechanical bosses.

6There Are Some Who Call Him…

As a reference straight out of Monte Python and the Holy Grail, Tim teleports his way into our sights as the target of this achievement. He’s a rare enemy but not a difficult one for the well-equipped. His spawn area is random depending on your world generation, but lava underground is always a good indicator that you’re in the correct area.

The reason it’s so difficult to get the achievement comes from his randomized spawn areas, on top of his very low spawn rate. If you can defeat him, you’ll walk away with a sweet wizards hat with some nice bonuses.

Terraria Sword Shrine

5Infinity +1 Sword

Another insanely tedious and complicated crafting tree achievement involving swords makes its way onto the list. To get this achievement, you’ll need to combine the following swords at a Mythril/Orichalcum anvil: the Terra Blade, Meowmere, Star Wrath, Influx Waver, Horseman’s Blade, Seedler, Starfury, Bee Keeper, Enchanted Sword, and finally, the Copper Shortsword in order to craft the Zenith.

The sword is extremely powerful, dealing a base damage of 190. It shoots projectiles that not only deal the same base damage as the melee attack but also pass through blocks. It’s a great weapon, but its use is limited since it’s a post-Moonlord weapon unless you’re playing withmods that add contentafter Moonlord.

4Tin-Foil Hatter

The Martian Madness event is available only after Golem. It’s difficult for the underprepared and harder to find for the uninformed. To start it, you have to be detected by a passing martian probe, and getting the probe to spawn is pure luck. The probes only spawn on the outer edges of the map and the rate can be slightly increased by heading up to the space biome.

As for the event itself, it can be brutal if you start it right after Golem. The achievement only requires you to beat the event for the first time, so there are no special criteria to unlock it.

Zenith Crafting Tree

3Mecha Mayhem

Mecha Mayhem is a very difficult achievement because it pits you against all three mechanical bosses at once. The Destroyer, Skeletron Prime, and The Twins are all going to be present for a night that can only be described as pure chaos. Don’t forget, if you fail to kill the three before the night is over, Skeletron Prime will initiate an attack that kills any player in one hit.

Martian Madness Event

It should be noted that this achievement can be acquired at any time. You’ll have a much easier time if you progress normally to post-Plantera to tackle this achievement since you’ll easily out-damage the three.

2Til Death…

This achievement can be overwhelming for beginners since you have to fight during a Blood Moon and kill about 70 zombies to cause the Groom to spawn. In fact, this is a nightmare for new players since many won’t venture out to hunt zombies during the event since the enemies become so difficult.

The Groom dropsa sweet top haton top of granting you the achievement upon killing him.

Mecha Mayhem

1Deceiver Of Fools

The encounter required for this achievement is sure to send you into a blind panic, especially if you’re new to the game. At some point you’ll see a woman underground named ‘Lost Girl’. Upon approaching the Lost Girl, she’ll suddenly transform into a Nymph and rip you apart.

If you manage to kill this extremely powerful and rare pre-hardmode enemy, you’ll be rewarded two gold for your troubles and the achievement Deceiver Of Fools. She also drops a metal detector 50 percent of the time, so it makes mining a bit easier when seeking out a particular ore.
