Changes to Helcurt in Mobile Legends patch 1.8.78
Helcurt has undergone a major makeover, updating many of his abilities, appearance, and splash art.
His revamped passive ability, Shadow of Styx, gives him a unique edge. Now, whenever enemies lose sight of him, he slips into Prowler State, becoming faster and healing over time.
Plus, every time he secures a kill, he briefly becomes invisible. Additionally, his first ability has been tweaked to inflict Terrify effects on enemies if he hits them while in Prowler State.
What makes Roam Helcurt viable?
Instant pick-off capability
As with all assassin roamers, the primary advantage of having a Roam Helcurt in the team is the ability to take down key targets quickly.
Even when played as a roamer, you can be a terror in one-on-one fights and a nightmare for backline heroes.
This is possible because of the potent burst damage you can unleash using the Hidden Terror and Deadly Stinger combo.
With enemy damage dealers taken out, you can pummel the enemy team in fights and translate it to a tower push, or objective take.
Stealth and superior mobility as a roamer
Another reason why Roam Helcurt is viable is his stealth and superior mobility over traditional supports.
This is most visible when he is in the Prowler state or when you activate Dark Night Falls. With the movement speed gain, you can support lanes quickly, either to respond to fights or initiate ganks.
You also have easy backline access with your blink skill, Hidden Terror. Using the mobility skill, you’re able to jump into the fray, deal damage, get out, and do it all over again.
Utility with Dark Night Falls
Roam Helcurt is popular not only because of his innate abilities as an assassin. He also possesses an ultimate called Dark Night Falls which can be used for team utility.
The ultimate plunges the entire map into darkness, disorienting enemies and enhancing the assassin’s attack speed and mobility.
As Roam Helcurt, you can use it both offensively and defensively. Activate it to launch a coordinated attack with your team or as a means of escape.
In addition, he continuously gains HP in the Prowler state, which translates into more uptime and presence on the battlefield.
