If there is one thing thatFire Emblemis known for, besides its tactical RPG format and its unique support conversations, it is its stylish characters. For years, this series has been giving us impressive character designs that you can’t help but admire. However, some Fire Emblem characters, while eye-catching, have interesting choices when it comes to their hairstyle. To put it bluntly, they have weird hair, and we all know it.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with weird hairstyles, but it does make us question how characters can go into combat looking like that. In a battlefield wherehealers are running around using Miracleandswords are swinging, shouldn’t you at least equip a hair tie or bring one in your convoy? Alas, style is more important than practicality in the world of the Emblems.
10Takumi
Takumi is the second Prince of Hoshido who is best known for his archery abilities. Alas, this is not the only thing he is known. As you can see from his striking appearance, Takumi has a lot of hair.
Not only do his locks fall well past shoulder-length and manageable, but Takumi chooses to tie it up in not one, but two hair ties. Of those hair ties, the second is positioned in the middle of his ponytail, thus creating a ponytail within his already long ponytail. Still, at least he coordinates the red in his ribbons with the red in his outfit.
9Ryoma
If you thought Takumi’s hair was a little bit too long, wait until you see his older brother’s hair. Ryoma didn’t even bother to tie up his hedgehog-like locks. They cascade down his back in spiky curls and the only thing preventing it from falling into his face is the large headpiece that he wears.
But, as you can see from Ryoma’s appearance, the headpiece does not keep all those hairy barbs back. Two of them poke out and undoubtedly get in Ryoma’s eyes whenever he wields his blade. Was having bangs really that necessary for completing the look?
8Sothis
Technically, we can forgive Sothis' bedhead as she’s been sleeping for a long time. Sure, it’s ridiculously long and shaggy and practically drags on the ground, but dreamland doesn’t have any hair salons. However, Sothis did have time to style her giant mane.

And the way Sothis styled her hair consists of two pigtails at the back, which do nothing to help organize her green waterfall, and two small braids in the front, thus giving the goddess several unique hairstyles in one. As weird as this design looks, we do miss it (and Sothis) when Sothis becomes one with Byleth.
7Alear
Where do we even begin with Alear? As many have already noticed, this Divine Dragon comes equipped with not one, but two hair colors. On one side, Alear’s hair is bright red while the other is dark blue. Depending on if you play male or female Alear, these colors will appear on opposite sides of this sleepy divinity’s head.
And, if you choose female Alear as your avatar, you’ll find yourself with very, very long hair. Hair so long it’s surprising that it’s not gotten accidentally chopped off during a downward sword swing.
6Peony
If you don’t recognize Peony, this butterfly-winged woman is from the mobile gameFire Emblem Heroesand hails from the realm of dreams. Her hair may seem like regular braided pigtails at first, but, on closer inspection, you notice that her hair isn’t braided and is actually twisted into a spiral.
On top of that, the ends of her hair look like two blossomed orange flowers. It’s a magical and beautiful look, but one you can’t help but question. Do bees visit Peony’s hair? What does Peony look like with her hair down? Can you pluck the petals off? So many questions.
5Jeralt
Though there are many real-life examples of Jeralt’s mullet and braid combination, you do have to question why this mercenary decided to grow his bangs so far down his face. Jeralt’s triangular bangs fall right into the area where his two eyebrows meet.
Not only that, but the bangs' perfectly centered placement lines up the hair on the top of Jeralt’s head with the beard growing at the bottom. Coupled with the visible textures in his locks, Jeralt’s hair looks like a hedgehog with blond spikes. But, at least this hedgehog is a kind and loving father.
4Bernadetta
Oh Bernadetta, your first post-time skip glow up showcased how far you had come from your academy days. Unfortunately, the slight time skip makeover fromFire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopesleaves this archer in a state of in-between. Not completely out of her shell, but also no longer in the academy, Three Hopes' Bernadetta is as confused as her hair.
She can no longer hide behind her bangs, yet she has no desire to tidy them up as she did inThree Houses. The solution? Tie it up and leave an awkward tuft of purple sticking up. If only Three Hopes had a longer time skip…
3Hortensia
Unlike Alear’s conflicting red and blue locks, Hortensia’s pink and white hair is a little more harmonious and coordinated. But color aside, how does Hortensia even get her hair to look like that? And by that, we mean defy gravity and remain perfectly stable all throughout her fights.

This princess' signature style is two circular hair loops positioned at the top of her head that look like two identical donuts. Seriously, didn’t everyone want a pink frosted donut after meeting Hortensia for the first time?
2Mila
At first glance, you might think that Mila is spreading her Divine Dragon wings. Then, you notice that those wings are attached to her hair. This is followed by the realization that Mila’s wings are her hair. Once again, a goddess figure is showing off a unique green hairstyle.
It’s not a bad style, and how feathery and wing-like the hair looks is a great detail; however, it does raise several questions. Why aren’t the wings on Mila’s back? Can she fly with her hair? Does she fly with her hair? And why, oh why do all the goddesses favor long, long hair?
1Lorenz
Of course, the winner for weirdest hair is Lorenz Hellman Gloucester. Pre-time skip, Lorenz’s hair is certainly a stylistic choice. It’s a bob with both a middle part and bangs. And don’t even get started on the undercut in the back! Somehow, this cut makes Lorenz’s hair appear both too long and too short at the same time.
Yes, post-time skip Lorenz’s hair is much better, and looks more noble, but still suffers the same problem as his academy days. That being that the hair is noticeably and painfully uneven. At least he grew out those awkward bangs.
