When first entering the world ofHarvestella, there are numerous areas to explore, with secrets locked behind hidden doors just waiting to be opened. Regardless of whether you’re in the first or final area of the game, plenty of things will catch your attention, or similarly, will altogether avoid your gaze.

Because of this, there are a select few things that we all do when starting the game, finishing quests, or dealing with the various crafting systems. And while some are silly, many are things we probably shouldn’t do.
10The Fishing Spot Chest
We’ve all seen the chest across the fishing spot in Bird’s Eye Brae. This chest is out in the open for all of us to see, with seemingly no way to get to it despite how vast our farm is.
Trying to search the walls for a secret passage, unlocking new areas, and even jumping down from above will not get you closer to the goal. The actual path only happens during winter when the pond freezes over, allowing you to cross and collect the chest.
9Accidentally Using The Selling Bin
The selling bin is a tool that is a necessity in seemingly every farming simulator game, allowing you to sell the resources, crops, and goods you’ve made and collected. However, you cannot make your own storage areas in Harvestella, as they’re already placed around the map.
Unfortunately, the selling bin is placed right next to the storage bin, and unless you’re paying attention, you may accidentally sell everything you want to store. Luckily, there is a way to get it all back, but it is still a tense moment nonetheless.
8Miscellaneous Excess Seeds
When fighting monsters, gathering, and finding chests, you will acquire random seeds for the farm. Early on in the game, when money is still tight, there will be times when you plant as many of the extra seeds as possible to use up all the space provided.
However, even in the later parts of the game, there are times when you will continue to do so, as all those seeds take up storage space. It’s more or less something that you do when you’re lazy and don’t want to keep constantly running back and forth between all the stores.
7Quietus Fishing
For many of us, the well where you can fight monsters during Quietus was not exactly the most obvious thing. So, fishing for the entirety of Quietus, either in Lethe Village or Bird’s Eye Brae, naturally became a thing to do at the end of each season.

In the process, you could remove all the dead crops from your farm and re-till any land that may have become undone to prepare for the next day. Either way, by the time the game has finally finished, you’ll have a lot more flexibility to fight the monsters in the well rather than one day a season.
6Cres’s Quest
When first presented with the option ofdoing quests for Dr. Cres, most of us continued along her storyline rather than completing the main story or side missions. Not only were there more benefits after completing each quest, but the first character introduced to you gets a more flushed-out backstory.
Only after continuing on with the main story does one realize that you’ll get character missions for every companion you have, which also boosts their stats.
5Faerie Requests
After finishing the first part of the main story, a red faerie comes along and starts giving you tasks to complete, which in turn rewards the player. However, there are a ton of these requests, and some of them ask you to do things that you usually wouldn’t do as an early game player.
That being said, each faerie has tasks that ask you to craft some item that they have introduced or that you’ve found. So, upon seeing this, it’s no surprise that a fast way to complete these tasks is tocraft everything you have, regardless of whether you need it or not, leading to a storage area filled with miscellaneous tools.
4Fighter And Mage Jobs
Fighter and Mage are the first two jobs you’ll acquire in the game, with Fighter being the default and Mage being picked up after meeting Unicorn and Dianthus. However, it’s only after making a deal with your friend Aria do you acquire the next job, Assault Savant. At that point, you must switch out a current job for a new one.
Because of this, many of the newer jobs you pick up are left in the dust, as many rely on the initial two being switched out that have already leveled up significantly. It isn’t until you get into a boss fight that you realize you need to level up your other jobs.
3Skipping Cutscenes
At one point you will either pass out from exhaustion or get knocked out by a monster. When this happens, you will see the cutscene that forces you to be more careful and considerate of your actions, and how much time you have in a day.

The unskippable scene of waking up in your bed is one of the most frustrating things you can encounter. Even going into the late game, you will still be mashing buttons to get through the scene faster.
2Searching Every Building
In every town, there are chests that are scattered around random buildings. However, in Lethe Village, you can find chests inside the buildings themselves rather than just outside or in hidden locations.
Because of this trend being set so early in the game, you would expect there to be chests inside buildings in every other town you go to as well. Unfortunately, that is not the case, and you will definitely be wasting your time if you try to look.
1Eating Gathered Materials In Dungeons
Sometimes whenexploring exceptionally lengthy dungeons or fighting monsters, you’ll realize that you accidentally didn’t bring enough food to regain stamina and health. So, in times of desperation, you look through your inventory to eat as many gathered materials as possible.
Obviously, this is pretty wasteful, especially considering that those ingredients could be used to make food that lasts much longer. However, there are times when you just need to get to that next checkpoint first.
