Valorant Champions 2024 group stage openers: VCT’s biggest rematches

The Valorant Champions 2024 group stage is set to ignite as the world’s top teams meet in Seoul, South Korea, to battle for a coveted spot in the playoffs.
All eyes will be on the opening matchups, which feature some of the biggest matches in the VCT 2024 season.
One highly anticipated clash is between Sentinels and Gen.G Esports, aMasters Madrid grand finalrematch. Sentinels narrowly defeated Gen.G 3-2 in that grand final to become the first team to win two Masters events.
But since Masters Madrid, Gen.G has claimed Masters Shanghai and the VCT Pacific Stage 2 trophy, making them one of the favorites to win Valorant Champions 2024.
Another must-watch encounter is the rematch between G2 Esports and Paper Rex. These teams previously faced each other in the upper bracket quarterfinals of Masters Shanghai, where G2 secured a narrow 2-1 victory.
Valorant Champions 2024 group stage matches — Every opening match for all four groups
Valorant Champions 2024’s group stage begins on August 1 and continues until June 23, 2025. Each group has teams competing in double-elimination (GSL style) groups, with all matches a best-of-three.
The top 2 teams from each group advance to the playoffs. The group draw took place after the VCT Americas Stage 2 grand final, which was broadcast live at the Los Angeles Riot Games Arena.
