Valorant patch 8.08 dampens post-plant meta with major Viper nerfs
Cypher is in the same boat.
If you thought Riot was done with Viper nerfs, brace yourself. The poisonous controller has once again been hit with the nerf hammer, and this time, Cypher will accompany her.
Valorant patch 8.08 tackles minor agent bugs, addsMystbloom bundleand brings Split back to the active pool.
However, the changes made to Viper and Cypher have become the center of attention due to their potential to drastically alter the game’s meta.
In the latest patch, both agents had the majority of their abilities tweaked, distressing those who main these two agents.
Viper nerfs in Valorant patch 8.08 make smokes no longer reusable
Gone are the days when Viper could use her smoke multiple times per round. After patch 8.08, she can only deploy it once per round, which limits her ability to create smoke-centered plays.
Players must choose one smoke position that remains viable throughout the round instead of tossing it around wherever they please. Thankfully, you can still redeploy the smoke during the buy phase.
The Toxic Screen, which is Viper’s poison curtain, also sees reduced uptime. The same goes for the smoke.
Post-plant meta will also take a hit in the latest Valorant patch 8.08, as Viper can only deal a limited amount of damage using a single molotov.
At least, it will last slightly longer than before, which means it’s still fairly dangerous.
Six months ago, Cypher entered the pool of best sentinels in Valorant with patch 7.09 buffs, and while recent changes have not rendered him obsolete, some players may drop him for the recent camera sound change.
Instead of the blinking lights, Cypher’s enemies will be constantly alerted by a sound indicating they are being watched.
Besides this, his Trapwire will also see some major nerfs.
All of these changes and more are now live inValorant patch 8.08.
