Darkest Dungeonis a roguelite indie game with a turn-based battle system and some incredibly epic character and monster designs. Sometimes when you get swept away in all the action, it’s hard to remember that all those rugged heroes each have their own personalities and backstories.

So let’s take a step back and get to know yourself and the Darkest Dungeon heroes a little better. And what better place to start than getting some more insight into their personality traits from their star signs?
12Aries: Hellion
Aries are passionate and fiery characters, which is something that Hellion fully embodies. Hellion is definitely the type to hack first and ask questions later. It’s hard to ignore her pure fiery passion and courageous bravery, especially on the battlefield.
Hellion is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in, and sometimes those Leroy Jenkins-esque personality traits are just what the team needs to get out of a sticky situation. Much like any Aires, she is not a character whose bad side we would like to be on, but we most definitely want her to be on our team.
11Cancer: Abomination
Cancers have a lot of feelings. Unfortunately, though, they can also suffer from bottling those feelings up until they eventually burst out in a fit of rage. Abominations' beast form is like a physical representation of that.
Abomination may feel a lot of emotions, and they may occasionally spill over to his detriment. But Abomination is undoubtedly loyal and will stick with you till the end in any fight, no matter the cost.
10Pisces: Houndmaster
Both the Hound and the Master embody different elements of Pisces in different ways. On one hand, the Hound is undyingly loyal, especially to those closest to him, and the Master is just like that dependable friend that you feel safe with and will protect you at all costs.

The unbreakable bond between the Hound and its Master is just like the bond any Pisces has with its closest friends, nothing could come between them. Unless whatever is trying to drive a wedge between them wants to expire, that is. This attitude is one of the things that make the Houndmaster anessential hero to have in your team.
9Leo: Crusader
Leo’s are strong, determined, outgoing, and, in some cases, incredibly stubborn. These are all elements that make up the Crusader’s personality, and possibly yours too if you are also a Leo. Especially the stubborn part. On some occasions, the Crusader’s stubbornness is so hard to break that he just simply refuses to enter a dungeon, particularly if Abomination is involved.
If that doesn’t just scream Leo, we honestly don’t know what will.
8Scorpio: Flagellant
Flagellant thrives on his own suffering, and unfortunately, that does tend to drag everyone surrounding them into the same pit. Passion and confrontational are just a few of the characteristics attributed to Scorpios, and Flagellant embodies them perfectly, for better or for worse.
Flagellant is so passionate about martyrdom that he will act as a magnet for the pain that otherwise would have been inflicted on the rest of the team. That is pretty nice when you think about it, but very Scorpio, nonetheless.
7Aquarius: Arbelist
As much of an epic beast in combat as Arbelist is, she does have a softer side like many other Aquariuses out there. Learning how to treat the wounds of her comrades and sharing her wealth of combat knowledge with anyone that will hear it is one of her strong points.
Aquarius is often considered one of the more tender star signs that are also passionately keen to learn and engage in the pursuit of knowledge. Arbelist’s wealth of combat and healing information makes her an Aquarius through and through.
6Libra: Antiquarian
Libras are all about balance. Antiquarian is the perfect depiction of this, although it isn’t necessarily their most valuable trait. Antiquarian has a balance of different skills, so much so that they are like a jack of all trades, master of none.
Libras hate conflict, and if you have ever had Antiquarian on the front lines in battle, you will know all too well that they are better suited elsewhere, far away from the conflict.
5Sagittarius: Jester
If Sagittarius' adventurous and spontaneous traits were personified to create a hero that thrives on fighting Fungal Scratchers in dark and dingy dungeons, it would be Jester. Jester loves a wild adventure, which is quite a nice trait to have when exploring dangerous places.

But crazy adventures and pranks are fun until they get taken too far. Unfortunately, this is a trait that Jester also possesses. If you too find yourself searching for the heart of adventure, you are most likely a Sagittarius and maybe a little like Jester.
4Capricorn: Highwayman
Capricorns are filled to the brim with determination, and this couldn’t be more true for the Highwayman. The Highwayman is a man of intense mystery and unbridled determination. Capricorns can sometimes be misinterpreted as two-faced because they aren’t always keen to let others in on all their secrets, which is very true of the Highwayman.
The Highwayman possesses the most determination of any of the heroes in Darkest Dungeon by far. Whether he wants to reveal the source of this determination to everyone is another thing altogether.
3Taurus: Grave Robber
If you’ve ever met a Taurus, you might already know that oftentimes, their personality aligns perfectly with that of the bull. Namely, their tendency to be relentlessly stubborn. The Grave Robber knows what she wants, and she is not afraid to go for it. Good luck trying to stop her, too.
At the same time as being incessantly stubborn, however, Taurus is stable and dependable. You know that the Grave Robber is there for you and incredibly dependable in a fight, as stubborn as she might be while she’s doing it.
