Blacktailfollows the story of a teenage girl called Yaga. You have been banished from your village for witchcraft, so you are now on the lookout for your older sister. As you make your way through the forest looking for your sister you will come across all manor of creatures good and bad.

As you come across these creatures you can choose to help or not to help, this will impact your morality depending on whether your choice is good or evil. All the decisions you make will determine the shaping of your surroundings and the path as a witch you choose to take.
Morality Explained
Morality in Blacktail is based on the decisions you make in the game, there are no right or wrong decisions unless you are aiming for a specific Morality. You could just stay in the middle and go no particular way, but then you will not be getting the buffs that come with either Good or Evil.
The choices that can determine your Morality are made up of things like feeding hedgehogs apples, and freeing birds from plants, whichwill give you Good Morality. If you were to kill the bird and hedgehog then you will get Evil Morality.Good Morality is depicted as a Sun and Evil Morality is a Moon.
You can also change your Morality by choosing how you help the creatures that give you questslike the Mushrooms and The Ant Queen. If you choose to help the evil creatures you are going to get Evil Morality, should you choose not to help them or get them to do something good instead then this will give you Good Morality.
The morality system is important as you will gain Buffs and also additional skill unlocks.So when starting the game you should look at each buff you get for each title and level of Morality to see which is the best route for you to take.
Evil Morality Buffs And Skills
There are three levels for Evil,calledEvil, Corrupt, and Rotten.With each level of Morality, you will get different Buffs as you make your way through the world.
Evil
For the Evil level, you will getthatenemies have a small chance of spawning Blood Orbs upon death, which will restore your vitality. You will also get aHocus skill called Leech which will drain health from enemies and restore yours.The final perk is theBroom, which will lure nearby enemies until it disappears or is destroyed.
Corrupt
The first two perks of Evil arethe same for Corrupt but with a higher chance of Blood Orbs dropping,then you get some changes. The Broomwill now last longerbefore disappearing or being destroyed,and will also gradually deal a small amount of damage to any taunted enemies.
Rotten
The chance of Blood Orbs dropping now becomes highand the Hocus skill stays the same. TheBroom now lasts even longerfor you andwill now deal moderate damage to taunted enemies.
Good Morality Buffs And Skills
Like the Evil side,there are three different levels of Morality on the Good side.These areGood, Gracious, and Noble,each of which gives you different Buffs and Skills.
Good
You will harvest more resources from the environment.You will also get aHocus skill which will cause continuous damage and then push back enemies when cast.You also have theBroom, which will lure nearby enemiesuntil it disappears or is destroyed.
Gracious
You harvest even more resources,and you have the same Hocus skill. TheBroom will now last longerbefore disappearing, and theBroom gradually regenerates small amounts of vitality.
Noble
With Noble,you now make the most of the resources that you find, meaning it takes less to craft.You have the same Hocus skill, but nowthe Broom will last even longer.Your Broom will now also regenerate moderate amounts of vitality.
Morality Titles
As well as the general Morality scale with the levelsthere are also Titles you can earn by completing tasks. These are found on the Morality menu page and if you click the info button it will show the tasks, although they are rather cryptic. By getting the Good Titles unlocked you will gain a good reputation throughout the forest,but if you choose to go down the Evil Title route then you will darken the forest and how others interact with you around the forest.
