When you think about it, Personas are the perfect partner. A being that completely understands and accepts all aspects of you, no matter how ugly. With that in mind, the choice of the cast of Persona 4 in which Pokemon they would use could similarly capture something about who they are.
9Yu Narukami & Gallade
While serving the role of Persona 4’s voiceless protagonist, Yu Narukami is generally displayed to be kind, honest, and heroic. Facing down any manner of darkness to assist the people of Inaba in tackling their issues head-on. What better Pokemon for him than the valiant white knight, Gallade?

8Yosuke Hanamura & Greninja
Yosuke always wanted to be the hero, though he lacked the opportunity to step into the spotlight. This was until he gained access to his Persona, Jiraiya, and formed the investigation team. From the appearance of Jiraiya to his weapon of choice, Yosuke clearly hasan invested interest in ninjas.
So what better Pokemon to help him protect Inaba than the Ninja Pokemon, Greninja. Born from the same inspiration as Yosuke’s Persona, Greninja’s swift moves and ninja-like grace best capture the stylish moves Yosuke shows off during battle.
7Chie Satonaka & Urshifu
The resident kung fu enthusiast of the investigation team, Chie spends much of her free time training to emulate the moves she sees in her favorite films. To be strong enough to protect those that she cares for is what drives her in all she does. A great partner to assist her with this endeavor is the Legendary Pokemon, Urshifu.
Similar to Chie, Urshifu begins thier life as a weak Kubfu who spends nearly all its time training to reach new heights. The two would likely bond over their sheer love for combat and spar endlessly until the Pokemon evolves into a Rapid-style Urshifu, matching Chie’s signature rapid kicks.
6Yukiko Amagi & Talonflame
Yukiko is the picture of elegance on the surface. The pride of Inaba and the next in line to inherit the Amagi Inn from her parents, she appears to have it all. Though anybody who has experienced the story of Persona 4 recalls that in truth, Yukiko feels like a caged bird, resenting how her whole life appears to be decided for her.

Wanting nothing more than to soar through the skies freely, Talonflame would appeal to this sense of freedom. A bird with scarlet wings andthe Fire-typingmatches well with Yukiko’s flame element and her love for the color red.
5Kanji Tatsumi & Bewear
While he may appear as a rough delinquent, Kanji is one of the kindest characters in Persona 4. While Kanji puts up a tough front to intimidate others. He is, in reality, a big softy who loves cute plush animals and sowing. As if being handcrafted for him, Bewear from the Alola Region fits far too well.
While appealing to his love of cute things, Bewear is still an absolute beast in battle with insane strength. This mirrors Kanji as he famously took down an entire biker gang by himself. With powerful attacks like Brutal Swing, Bewear and Kanji would be a formidable duo.
4Rise Kujikawa & Gardevoir
Rise is the heart of the investigation team, fitting herassociation with the Lovers arcana. Though she can be vain and superficial, her heart is often in the right place. Somebody so in-tune with their emotions would be a perfect match for the Pokemon Gardevoir.
Known as the emotion Pokemon, Gardevoir’s abilities to understand the feelings of others and utilize psychic powers would undoubtedly be useful for a navigator such as Rise. The visual similarities to Rise’s Persona, Himiko, further solidify this connection.
3Teddie & Mimikyu
If you’re in love with the adorable appearance of Teddie, that isn’t by accident. Teddie desires to understand and befriend any human he happens to encounter, tailoring his mascot-like bear form to be appealing. If there is any Pokemon that would connect with this desire for love, it is Mimikyu.

This Ghost and Fariy-type Pokemon hides its terrifying, true form under a Pikachu cosplay to be desired by people. This is something Teddie would likely empathize with, the two becoming fast friends as they continue their quest to find love among humanity.
2Naoto Shirogane & Alakazam
Naoto is well known for her impressive intellect. Upon her introduction into the story, she is already assisting the Inaba police department in their attempts to hunt a criminal. Her deductive skills are second to none and there is no better Pokemon to join her in cracking cases than Alakazam.
Described to have a brain that “never stops growing,” this Psychic-type is capable of remembering any it sees. This invaluable trait would be of great use to the young detective as Naoto would rely on her Pokemon to keep track of any minor details while solving a case.
1Nanako Dojima & Togekiss
Your sweet cousin who becomes more like a little sister, Nanako is always home to greet you after a long day. Her compassionate heart never wavers as she enjoys the company of her big bro. With her dad away at work, a Togekiss could be the perfect companion to watch over Nanako.
