What is Oshi no Ko manga about?

Oshi no Ko, written by Aka Akasaka (known for “Kaguya-sama: Love is War”) and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, is a seinen manga that delves into the world of idols and acting with a unique twist.

The story centers around Gorou Amamiya, a doctor who gets reincarnated as Aquamarine Hoshino, the son of a famous idol named Ai Hoshino. Unbeknownst to Aqua, his twin sister, Ruby Hoshino, is the reincarnation of Sarina Tendouji, a former patient who was also a fan of Ai.

Tragedy strikes when Ai is murdered by the same deranged fan who killed Gorou in his previous life. Aqua, who retains his past memories, grows up with a desire to avenge his mother. Meanwhile, Ruby harbors a dream to become an idol just like Ai.

The first season of the anime aired from June 29, 2025, to Jun 24, 2025, with 11 episodes. The second season aired from May 11, 2025, to June 28, 2025, featuring 13 episodes.
