If you’re aWorld of Warcraftcompletionist and are looking to add another battle pet to your collection, you may have missed the Snowy Owl. There’s a valid reason for this, as this avian is only available at certain times of the year.

As you can tell by the name, finding the Snowy Owl happens only in winter. Generally, you’ll have until the end of the season to acquire it. Usually, this will be aroundlate February or early March, but as there’sno official end date communicated, better to get it now!
Where To Find The Snowy Owl
Quite predictably, the Snowy Owl is found in a zone that lends its name well to the theme:Winterspring, located innortheast Kalimdor.
If you’reAlliance, the easiest way to get there is toportal to Darnassusfrom Stormwind— the portal is at the end of the leftmost dock in Stormwind Harbour — then fly across the seato the southeast. Conversely,Hordeplayers can flydirectly north from Orgrimmar, with Winterspring just on the other side of Azshara.
Once there, just fly or ride around the zone, keeping an eye out for the Snowy Owl —it can be found all over. A good tactic is tocreate the following macrothat you’re able to spam while travelling.
This willautomatically lock on to the Snowy Owlwhen it’s in the vicinity, usually within around90 yards.Alternatively, justclick on the binoculars next to your minimapand selectTrack Petsto see all battle pets in the area.
As with any battle pet, you’ll need to reduce the Owl’s health tobelow 35 percent in a pet battlein order to attempt to catch it. This can fail several times, so make sure your pets arehealed up firstto weather the storm!
Snowy Owl Battle Pet Abilities
The Snowy Owl can beanything above level 15 when caught, so you’ll need to raise its level through pet battling tolevel 20to make sure all its abilities are unlocked for use.
When done, these are the moves you’ll have to choose from and the Owl’s stats at max level.Each row represents a choice of move— for example, either PeckorQuills.

Overall the Snowy Owl is a rather one-dimensional pet,limited to mostly Flying-type attacks. This makes itvery good against Aquatic battle petsbut isweak against the rather strong Dragonkin type. It can hit hard, and thanks to its passive, quickly — but ultimately, it’s a pet for a curated team rather than one that can cover many bases.
