The Serpent Hashira’s first appearance in the manga and anime
Obanai first appeared in Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer manga in chapter 45, Hashira Meeting. The anime adaptation followed suit, introducing him in episode 23, also titled Hashira Meeting.
Obanai has a pale complexion and striking black hair styled in short and long strands. Notably, his mouth is always covered by bandages.
He dons the standard Demon Slayer uniform with a unique twist — a black and white pinstriped haori that reaches his hands.
Obanai never ventures far without his constant companion, a white snake named Kaburamaru, coiled around his shoulders.
Obanai Iguro’s backstory
