You’ll have a choice between which of Bea’s childhood friends you hang out with each day: the gloomy and terse Bea, or energetic yet flighty Gregg. The story will change slightly depending upon who you choose to spend more time with, so here’s a guide to help you decide which path to take.

Bea’s Hangouts And Ending

If you are looking for anemotional journeythrough friendship, loss, and finding hope in the hopeless, you’ll want to opt tohang out with Bea each day.

Bea Santello is Mae’s childhood best friend whom she sadly grew apart from after seventh grade. When Mae returns to Possum Springs after packing it in at university, the girls start off highly awkward with each other. Bea craves the opportunities for further education that she accuses Mae of having carelessly discarded, while Mae admires Bea’s fierce loyalty and her seemingly clear-cut career path.

Mae’s journal drawings show her resolved friendship with Bea in Night in the Woods

Even though they don’t see eye to eye at first, hanging out with Bea over the four in-game days will see the girls working out their differences. Their respective struggles with mental health, desperation, and loneliness offer a poignant framework for the game’s overarching mystery storylines, making their teamwork all the more rewarding for having seen how far they both have come as individuals and friends.

In order to get locked into Bea’s storyline, you’ll need tohang out with Bea for at least three of the four initial hangoutsand alwayschoose to go to the partywith her.

All Bea Events In Night In The Woods

If you hang out with Bea the most, you willcontrol her briefly at the start of Chapter Fourand will talk to her before your final band practice. It won’t impact the ending of your game, but it justsignifies which of the friends Mae is closer to at this point.

Gregg’s Hangouts And Ending

If you’re intoshenanigansand a touch of lighthearted teenage-era petty crime,Gregg should be your hangout partner of choicein Night in the Woods. Mae’s rambunctious best friend is now shacked up with his boyfriend Angus, but that doesn’t make him any less of a wildcard. The two get up to a lot of mischief together, with Mae bringing out Gregg’s messier side that he seems to have suppressed since she left for college.

Gregg’s storyline is a lotless sombre and serious in tone than Bea’s, changing your overall experience of the game itself and what you might take away from it. However, it still makes a lot of salient points about growing up, acting out, and moving on from adolescence when childish things no longer serve you.

Hanging out with Gregg over Bea does feel cruel though, especially when he has a loving partner and all Bea has is her father and a dead-end job. We won’t judge you for choosing crimes over cries, though; it’s your adventure.

Just as with Bea, you’ll have tohang out with Gregg three out of four timesif you want to get his ending.

All Gregg Events In Night In The Woods

If you hung out with Gregg the most, you will control him at the start of Chapter Four and talk to him before band practice at the end of the game. Thehangouts don’t change the ending as much as they do the events of the game, including what Mae discovers about herself and her chosen buddy.
