If you’re looking to deal the most damage and provide the best utility as a DPS in the expansion, then this The War Within DPS tier list is for you.
The War Within DPS tier list with individual rankings
Before we jump into the list, it’s important to note that this will try to encompass the class and specs overall as DPS across both Mythic+ and Raid. We’ll have more specific tier lists coming at a later date, so verify to check back!

The War Within class rankings
Augmentation continues its reign as one of, if not the best spec in the game thanks to its insane utility and ability to not only buff allies, but keep them alive. Pushing higher M+ keys makes Augmentation a near must-have.
Frost Death Knight has been absolutely incredible of the last few updates, and it’s continuing into The War Within. It’s time for the Deathknight’s to get back into the limelight.
Elemental Shaman has been good for a solid portion of Dragonflight, but heading into The War Within, it may be the best its been in a long time. If you’ve ever wanted to try it, now may be the time.
Moving out of the S rank, there are a lot of good to very good options and honestly it’s going to depend more on what suits your playstyle or feels good to you than anything else.
After that, The War Within DPS tier list has a bit of a drop off with some less than stellar picks down in C with Devastation and Destruction Warlock. It doesn’t get into desperate need for buffs until you reach Fire Mage though. When you balance it with both Arcane and Frost being amazing picks, Mage is still a great pick though.
