The Welcome Amiibo update forAnimal Crossing: New Leafintroduced fourZelda-inspired villagers — Wolf Link, Ganon, Medli, and Epona. These villagers share characteristics with their Zelda counterparts, but fit in perfectly with the world of Animal Crossing.

With only four Zelda villagers thus far, there’s lots of room for many other characters to become villagers too.The character designs of the Zelda seriesfrequently lend themselves well to this concept, as many of them are non-human and animal-like in design. The novelty of living alongside these characters would keep things fresh, and give you the opportunity to see them outside their respective games.
10The Goat: Christine
A resident of Animal Village inLink’s Awakening, Christine is an adorable goat who pens love letters to Mr. Write. In one of her letters, she attaches a photograph of “herself”; however, funnily enough, it’s actually ofPrincess Peach.
InAnimal Crossing, Christine would naturally be a goat, and unlike, other Zelda characters, her design wouldn’t need tweaking at all — she already looks as though she’d fit right in as a villager. Of course, she also could wear the Princess Peach dress to call back to the photograph she sent Mr. Write.
9Spirits Of The Island: Koroks
Koroks are spirits with a strong connection to the Lost Woods and the Great Deku Tree, and they appear in The Wind Waker where Link helps them to revive trees across the land. InBreath of the Wild, there are infamously 900 Koroks scattered across Hyrule, and finding them is a task only the most patient hero can accomplish.
There are numerous Koroks that Animal Crossing could use for a villager: Makar, a talented violinist; Hestu, an unusually large Korok; and Chio, an elder Korok with a mushroom on his head. Whichever Korok became a villager, they’d be distinct and perfect for a forest-themed island, helping you to keep the flora flourishing.
8Royal Cephalopod: Deku Princess
The Deku Princess isa character from Majora’s Mask, and, as the name implies, is Deku royalty. Although she only has a minor part, she’s one of the most memorable characters in the game due to her intricate character design and amiable personality.

As an Animal Crossing villager, the Deku Princess would be an octopus, as octopuses and Deku share many similar physical characteristics. Her friendly and upbeat personality would make her a Peppy villager, as they’re known to be outgoing and bubbly, becoming friends with everyone they meet.
7Cranky But Cute: Prince Komali
Prince Komali is a timid Rito and the future Chieftain of his people. His appearance would make him a great villager, and he would be a bird, similar to Medli in New Leaf. In The Wind Waker, Komali is Medli’s friend, so it would be cute to have them together in your town or island.
Although shy, Komali acts standoffish to Link and takes a while to warm up to him, similar to how Cranky villagers behave. Even though it might take a little while to befriend Komali, it would be worth it in the end.
6Full Of Charm: Prince Sidon
The prince of the Zora, Sidon helps Link to stop the Divine Beast Vah Ruta from ravaging Zora’s Domain, becoming a treasured friend to Link in the process. Prince Sidon is the perfect Zelda character to use to introduce shark villagers to Animal Crossing, something that fans have sought after for a long time.
Sidon’s princely attitude lends itself well tothe Smug personality type, which is known to be charming. He’d also enjoy diving with you around the island — though you’d probably have a tough time keeping up with him without the Zora Armor.
5Time For A Concert: Kass
In Breath of the Wild, Kass is a Rito that Link can encounter across Hyrule, searching for the Ancient Songs passed down through generations. As a villager, Kass would be an eagle, as it’s the closest in terms of appearance to the Rito.

Kass’ colorful design would definitely stand out on your island, especially if the contrasting red headpiece was also incorporated into his villager. Kass could use his musical abilities to perform alongside K.K. Slider, using his bandoneon to add a touch of Breath of the Wild’s musical score to the concerts on your island.
4Suspicious Rabbit: Ravio
Posing as a shopkeeper in Hyrule to help Link on his journey, Ravio is Link’s counterpart from the kingdom of Lorule, a mirror of Hyrule without a Triforce. However, throughout the game, Ravio wears a hood shaped like a rabbit’s head, harkening back to Link’s rabbit form in the Dark World of A Link to the Past.
Due to his appearance, the obvious choice is for him to be a rabbit villager; however, much like Zipper T. Bunny and Hopkins, Ravio’s design could hint at his secret identity underneath the costume.
3The Smallest Villager: The Minish
Appearing in The Minish Cap, the Minish are tiny creatures that are usually invisible to Hylians; however, they can be seen by children who behave well. By appearance alone, they’d make endearing villagers, as they’re one of the cutest creatures in the series.
They most closelyresemble mice villagersbecause of their pointed snouts, but a villager counterpart could incorporate the Minish’s elf-like ears, allowing them to keep their signature red hat. As well as this, a Minish villager could have a feather tail, helping to translate the entire design into the Animal Crossing world. On a rainy day, they could use a Leaf Umbrella to give the illusion of their small size.
2Behind The Mask: Skull Kid
The antagonist of Majora’s Mask,Skull Kid is corrupted by the power of Majora, resulting in his attempt to bring down the moon on the citizens of Termina. Skull Kid is a sympathetic character and one deserving of a villager counterpart, especially as he’s one of the most recognizable “villains” in the series.

Underneath Majora’s Mask, Skull Kid has a bird-like beak, a characteristic that would make him the perfect duck villager. As Majora’s Mask was available in New Leaf, this headpiece could be worn by his villager to complete the iconic look. Just keep an eye on the moon while he’s around.
1Snarky Imp: Midna
Midna is your companion throughoutTwilight Princess, and has become one of the most well-regarded characters in the series thanks to her snarky yet charming personality and intriguing backstory surrounding the Twili people.
Although Midna’s design wouldn’t directly translate to a villager species, as Wolf Link’s does, the cat species may be the closest in terms of personality and appearance. The ears could be used for the pointed tips of Midna’s helmet; however, as Midna’s Mask is a wearable item in New Leaf, her villager could also don this item. If Wolf Link ever returned to New Horizons, he could reunite with his companion.
