After everyone started comparing the two, someone has recreated the vehicles Link is seen driving in the Tears of the Kingdom trailer inBanjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.
There was one thought on everyone’s mind when we got anew trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom earlier this week- those vehicles Link is seen driving sure look like they’re right out of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, huh? Their somewhat cobbled-together appearance combined with the fact that we see Link using them on the land and in the air instantly reminded a lot of us about Rare’s last Banjo game.

With Zelda fans talking about that comparison so much over the past few days,Redditor TheShaggyRogers took the next logical step and decided to recreate both of the vehicles we saw Link driving in Nuts & Bolts. They shared their attempts on the Zelda subreddit, noting that they “had to” build them after seeing so many jokes about the similarities between the two.
TheShaggyRogers made comparison images showing the version of the vehicles they made in Nuts & Bolts compared to the shots of them in the Tears of the Kingdom trailer. The ones in the upcoming Zelda look a bit more weathered and green, but it’s a pretty great recreation from TheShaggyRogers and really shows just how similar the two are in this regard.
The recreation has been well-received by Zelda fans, but most of the conversation on the Reddit post as of the time of writing is about how great Nuts & Bolts was. At launch, it wasn’t very well-received by fans for how little it focused on platforming, but it seems that time has been kind to the vehicle-based adventure.
Although Nuts & Bolts has been the main comparison point for most people after seeing the Tears of the Kingdom trailer, we currently don’t actually know how these vehicles work. Although it’s currently assumed that Link has built these vehicles himself, all we’ve really seen so far is Link driving them around.
